Sometimes a book is so popular, the publisher republishes it several
years after its initial publication. This book is that case and since
I missed reviewing it the first time around, it is worth reviewing it
now. This is a story from Jewish mythology about the Shameer worm, the
special creature who cut stones used for building King Solomon's Temple.
Yoel is a poor orphan lad who works as a stonemason and listens to the
wise words of King Solomon as he resolves problems and happens to meet
the Shameer. He reveals a special relationship to Yoel's father. When
a problem with the marriage of the king's daughter arises, Shameer and
Yoel are called into action. This tale is unique because there are few
stories about the Shameer and King Solomon, which children 4 to 8 should
enjoy.
