Gordon-Lucas, Bonnie

Bonnie Gordon-Lucas illustrates magazines, children's books, CD covers, greeting cards, rubber stamps, fabric, and wallpaper. Her work is humorous and energetic with a timeless, lyrical flow. Bonnie paints on paper with inks made from the hulls of walnuts, watercolor, gouache and acrylics. She has been a free-lance illustrator for over 30 years, and lives in a farmhouse surrounded by flower gardens, with her husband, two dogs, and four parakeets.

Her love for animals comes through in the programs she holds, such as the one about "Taking care of Noah's Ark Animals" which combines her illustrations with her love for animals. In the program, Bonnie tells the names of the animals in Hebrew, shows children how to draw them, and talks about their needs. Fun With My First Words has a beautiful Noah's Ark section.
